The Mergelstetten plant is the focus of the Catch4Climate plan put forward through a partnership between Dyckerhoff, Heidelberg Materials, Schwenk Zement and Vicat, with the goal of implementing a 100% carbon capture plant. In 2022, plans to build an oxyfuel pilot unit were announced, with the intention to invest over Euro120m towards building a dedicated 450t/day production line to test the oxyfuel process.
