Background

Unit 3 consists of two turbines: the GT-1 GT13E2 Alstrom turbine with capacity of 168 MW and the UTMZ turbine ST T-53/67-8 with capacity of 54 MW. [21][22] Unit 7 was commissioned in April 2022[23] and replaced units 1 and 2.

According to "The Comprehensive Program of Modernization of the Energy Sector in 2021-2025" issued by the Ministry of Energy of Belarus on April 5, 2021, Unit 8 was planned to be commissioned in 2021-2025 and units 5 was to retire in 2023[24]. In February 2023, Unit 8 was undergoing commissioning and start-up[25], however, the Ministry of Energy had reported the project as completed already in December 2022[26].
