Minsk CHP-4 power station (Минская ТЭЦ-4) is an operating power station of at least 1030-megawatts (MW) in Minsk, Belarus with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating.

Background
A new unit (unit 1R) was announced in the Ministry of Energy plan for 2021-2025 released in 2021: it stated that some old units at this station, which have equipment similar to the turbine model PT-60 (ПТ-60), will be retired and, possibly, replaced with modern equipment. Since unit 1 is 60 MW, this might be referring to a replacement of unit 1.[11]
In February 2022, there were complaints from local residents about the smell of fuel oil from the station. This may be associated with the transition of oil refineries to new technologies for deep oil refining, due to which the non-standardized composition of oil fuel components has changed significantly.[12]
As of April 2023, there have not been any developments related to the replacement of Unit 1 since the program was released in 2021. The project is considered to be shelved.
In 2024, units 4, 5 and 6 were undergoing technical modernization to enable their participation in automatic power frequency and capacity regulation.[13]
