Background on Mine
The mine is operated by Sasan Power, a wholly owned subsidiary of Reliance Power, and supplies the Sasan Ultra Mega Power Project, a 4,000 megawatt project.[9] Moher Amlohri is one of three captive mines, in addition to the Chhatrasal coal mine (which was cancelled in 2015) and the Moher coal mine. They contribute to the 25 million tonnes of coal per annum needed by the power plant. [10]
As of 2020, there have been no updates on the extension project, which is likely shelved.[11]
