Background

In May 2013, Turkey's state-owned coal-mining company TKI announced that it was planning for a 300-MW coal-fired power plant to be built on a site about 5km away from the village of Karacahisar in Muğla province. The plant would presumably be built by a private company, and TKI would presumably be auctioning off the rights to build the plant at some point in time.[1][2]

The project has already been met with local opposition.[3] As of December 2020 the project had not progressed in more than six years, and appears to be cancelled.
