Background
Alongside the Kasawari Oil and Gas Field (Malaysia) and NC3 Gas Field (Malaysia), NC8 was expected to supply Malaysia LNG Terminal Train 9 as of 2023.[4]
A 2022 Asia Pacific Energy Research Centre (APERC) report mentioned NC8 as a project "that came online between 2017 and 2020."[5] However, 2021 data listed the project as planned.[6] As of 2024, commercial datasets list the field as "producing" with production anticipated to continue through 2062,[7] but there are few other datasources indicating production had begun as of May 2024, leaving the status ambiguous.
