Background

The decision to build the plant was made in 2006, however, due to the financial crisis of 2008, the construction was delayed, and the plant was put into operation only in 2013.

In September 2023, NLMK Group sold NLMK Ural and NLMK Kaluga steel plants to Promsort OOO.
