Background

Nariin Sukhait Mine is a 10 million tons per annum coal mine owned and operated by Mongolyn Alt Corporation (MAK Corporation) in Ömnögovi Province, Mongolia.[4] Nariin Coal Mine is located 34 kilometers south of Gurvantes, 296 km west of Dalanzadgad town, 849 km southwest of Ulaanbaatar city, and 56 km north of Shiveekhuren border port.[4] The MAK Corporation began production at the Nariin Sukhait coal mine in December 2007, and its first export shipment was delivered in May 2008.[4]

The company proposes that the mine increase production to 5-8 million tons per annum upon completion of a railway to facilitate export sales.
