Background

The 660 MW plant is to be commissioned by CESC.[1][2] The company released an environmental impact assessment in 2013.[3]

The project was originally planned for operation in 2014,[4] but by August 2015 had not received environmental clearance. The project is not mentioned on Essar Energy's website list of upcoming projects, nor in its 2014 Annual Report, and appears to be deferred or abandoned.[5]
