Background
The cost of the project has been estimated at US$2.4 billion. Although the bidding process for selecting project investors was cancelled in October 2024, Nhgi Son is one of several proposed thermal plants that are under instruction from Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh for a construction start before the end of 2025.[11][12]
