Background
The Nordic Hydrogen Route is a collaboration between the national transmission system operator of Finland (GasGrid Finland Oy) and Nordion Energi of Sweden, seeking to create a hydrogen network between the two countries.
The pipeline is expected to be operational by 2030, and is included in the European Hydrogen Backbone plan.
The overall project also involves the development of green hydrogen production in Bothnian Bay, although this is noted as still being in the very early stages of planning and development.[5]
