Background

The oil pipeline is used to transport oil from the Novoportovskoye Oil and Gas Condensate Field to the collection point on the coast of the Ob Bay and further to the terminal Novy Port via a pipeline over 100 km long. The infrastructure built at the field and on the coast of the Ob Bay enables the transshipment of up to 8.5 million tons of oil per year. Novy Port is the only terminal in the world located in freshwater within the Arctic Circle.[5]
