PacRim Coal

PacRim Coal is the company proposing to build the Chuitna River mine 45 miles west of Anchorage on the Cook Inlet. The proposal involves the extraction of 300 million tons of coal over 25 years, making the mine Alaska’s largest coal strip mine and the third largest in the United States.[1]
