Background
In 2013, Reuters reported, Eni had also agreed to build a 75-megawatt power plant in Mozambique’s northern Cabo Delgado province, where it had made massive gas discoveries in its offshore field. Analysts estimated that the power plant could cost about $75 million, excluding the cost of any necessary transmission infrastructure.[5]
There have been no updates since 2018 and the project is now considered canceled.
