Background
Pengerang Johur LNG Terminal is a proposed LNG terminal in Johor, Malaysia.[3] It is planned for 2019.[4] The LNG Terminal is being developed with deepwater jetty facility, thus it will also be capable of handling very large crude carriers. Upon completion, the Pengerang terminal will be able to handle the bulk breaking and bulk-building activities for crude oil, petroleum products and LNG.[2]
The terminal entered commercial operations in November 2017.[5]
In October 2023, according to the 2024 GIIGNL report, Malaysia's MISC and Petronas reached an agreement to convert the LNG carrier Puteri Delima Satu into a floating storage unit (FSU) for the terminal, which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2025, and to operate for 20 years.[6]
