Background

The Permyakovsky coal mine (Пермяковский разрез) is an operating surface coal mine in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia. The Permyakovsky coal mine is operated by Permyakovsky Razrez LLC, owned by Stroyservis. It began operating in 2002.[7]

It produced 4.1 million tons of coal in 2019[8]. In 2021 its production reached 5.2 million tonnes, a 26% increase compared to 2020.[7] In 8 months of 2022, the mine produced 2.5 million tonnes.[9]

It produces subbituminous and bituminous coal (Russian coal grades D, DG and G) supplied for electricity generation in Russia. [7]

The expansion, sometimes known as Oktyabrsky, would increase the production capacity by 1.2 mtpa to reach 5.3mtpa.[10]

The Oktyabrsky section was added to the mine in 2020, according to the reporting of environmental indicators by Stroyservis.[11] The increase in production appears to be achieved already in 2021.
