Background
In December 2022, it was announced that Petronas would employ Japan's JGC and South Korea's Samsung Heavy Industries to build the terminal.[2]
It would be powered by a nearby natural gas-fired power station.
In January 2023, Petronas signed an Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) contract for the project with JGC and Samsung Heavy Industries.[3]
