Background

The main goal of the construction of the pipeline was expansion of the existing gas transmission infrastructure within the corridor of operating pipelines Pochinki - Yaroslavl and Gryazovets - KGMO. The Pochinki-Gryazovets pipeline serves as a strategic bidirectional shunt pipeline in the Central Federal District of Russia between the gas transmission systems of the Central and Northern Corridors (from Pochinki compressor station in the gas transmission system of the Uzhgorod Corridor to Gryazovets compressor station in the gas transmission system of the Northern Corridor). The pipeline runs across 5 regions in Russia: Nizhny Novgorod, Vladimir, Ivanovo, Yaroslavl and Vologda Oblast.[4]
