The terminal appears to have been proposed in June 2014.[3] It was reported in 2014 that the Finnish state awarded a subsidy of €33,155,400 for construction of the terminal.[2] September 2014 is therefore presumed to be the final investment decision date.
In September 2016, Skangas finished construction on the US$88 terminal at Tahkoluoto Port, near Pori.[4][5][6]
In October 2018, Gasum increased its ownership of Skangas from 70% to 100%, and Skangas was renamed as Gasum.[7]
