Background
Port Esperanza FSRU was a proposed LNG terminal in California, United States.[1] The current status of the project is unclear. The Oil & Gas Journal reported in 2006 that Esperanza Energy LLC was studying the feasibility of a deepwater LNG import terminal 12 miles off the coast of California.[2] In 2007, Port Esperanza LNG announced they would begin seeking approval for the project in the near future.[3] However, there have been no development updates since 2007 and the project appears to be cancelled.
