Background
Dutch storage firm Vopak plans to build an LNG import terminal at Avalon in Port Phillip bay in Victoria using a 636-849 TJ/d floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU).[1]
Vopak submitted an environmental plan to the Victorian government in December 2022, and was still awaiting approval as of May 2023.[4][6]
As of May 2024, there were no additional updates related to this project.
