Potland Burn mine is an open cut coal mine near Ashington in Northumberland. The mine is owned and operated by UK Coal.
Approximate location
UK Coal is planning to extract approximately 2 million tonnes of coal from the mine. Mining commenced in March 2010 and the scheduled closure is in December 2016.[1]
