Background

Prakash Industries Ltd was established in 1980. Prakash Sponge Iron and Power Pvt Ltd was incorporated in 10 September 2007. The company currently operates a DRI plant and induction furnaces at the plant. It has currently proposed the expansion of sponge iron production from 90 ttpa to 1,118 ttpa and steel capacity from 130 ttpa to 784 ttpa.

The public hearing for the proposed epxansion was conducted on 08 September 2023.
