Background
The Project will be built adjacent to two existing power plants -- the Sapele National Integrated Power Project Plant and CMEC/Eurafric Energy Limited Plant [formerly known as Power Holding Company of Nigeria Plant (PHCN)].[5]
A groundbreaking ceremony was held on September 28, 2017.[6]
As of October 2021, the project appears to still be pre-construction. There have been no major updates since 2017 and it is assumed to be cancelled.
