Background

Pushan-5 power station is a two-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 250 MW. The plant was completed in 1998 and 1999. Its ownership was originally shared among Nanyang Hengsheng Energy Development Co, CPI Henan Electric Power Co, and NGLE Pushan Power LDC, a Cayman Islands-registered company.[1]

The plant was retired in 2020 due to a lack of water to supply it.[2][3]

Ownership

In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[4]
