Queensland Resources Council

The Queensland Resources Council (QRC) (formerly Queensland Mining Council) "is a not-for-profit peak industry association representing Queensland's minerals and energy sector." The council promotes and protects the interests of those who explore, mine and process minerals and energy in Queensland/Australia.[1]

Role

  • "building strong community and stakeholder support for the minerals and energy sector's social licence to operate"
  • "implementing strategies to secure key resources, including skills, economic and community infrastructure"
  • "promoting a sustainable regulatory environment for the minerals and energy sector in Queensland."

Former Vice-president Mr Nicholas W. Stump who is a member of the University of Queensland's Senate (2005 - as a member appointed by the Governor in Council). Mr Stump is also president of Minerals Council of Australia.
