Lawsuit
In December 2011, Alpha settled a lawsuit with the Ohio Valley Environmental Coalition, West Virginia Highlands Conservancy, and Sierra Club, ending a fight over selenium pollution at three mines. The plan calls for a $50 million cleanup effort and fines at the Twilight and Red Cedar operations in Boone County and the Kanawha Division along the Kanawha-Fayette county line.[1]
