Red River Mine

Red River Mine is operated by the Red River Mining Company, a subsidiary of The North American Coal Corporation. The mine is in Coushatta, Louisiana, and began production in 1989. The mine delivers approximately 700,000 tons of coal per year, particularly to American Electric Power (AEP) and Cleco Power LLC. The mine utilizes dragline for overburden removal, and reclaims about 70 acres of land annually.[1]
