Background

The 102 MW Refinería Talara power station comprises a pair of cogeneration units at the Talara refinery on Peru's northwest coast. Construction was completed in late March 2024, and the power plant began operations in April 2024.[8][9] The plant provides electricity for petrochemical processing at the refinery and feeds any excess capacity into Peru's national grid.[9]
