Background

The 2 x 700 MW plant is owned by Kyushu Electric Power. Unit 1 began operating in 1995, and Unit 2 began operating in 2003.[1]

In April 2023, Kyushu Electric announced that an ammonia co-firing test would be conducted at Reihoku power station Unit 1.[2]
