Rizhao LNG Terminal (日照 LNG 接收站) is a LNG terminal in Rizhao, Shandong, China with proposals from various companies. The local government first formed the terminal plan and sought investment, and several companies have attempted to develop the project. As of 2023, two of the proposals are cancelled, and the third is considered shelved.

Background

Royal Golden Eagle Terminal

Rizhao LNG Terminal (新加坡金鹰集团日照岚山 LNG 接收站) is a proposed 2 mtpa LNG import terminal in Shandong, China. An agreement to develop Rizhao LNG Terminal between Pacific Oil & Gas Limited, a subsidiary of Singapore's Royal Golden Eagle Group, and Rizhao city government was signed in May 2016.It is planned for 2019. If constructed, it would be the second LNG import terminal involving Pacific Oil & Gas in China, after Rudong LNG Terminal.

As of July 2019 there has been no further news about the project and it does not appear on the Royal Golden Eagle website. As of 2021, there appears to be no development in over four years, and it is considered cancelled.

Hanas Terminal

Since 2014, Hanas Group has been exploring the possibility to develop an LNG terminal (哈纳斯日照LNG接收站)in Rizhao, Shandong.

As of 2018, there had been no evidence for further development of the terminal in over four years, and it is considered cancelled.

Jingneng Terminal

In July 2019 Lanqiao Group and Beijing Energy Group (岚桥集团与北京能源集团有限责任公司) announced that they would invest 6.7 billion yuan to build the terminal (京能日照岚桥LNG接收站).

As of 2021, it had been over two years since any reported development, and the terminal is considered shelved.

An undated design sketch can be found on the official website of Qingdao Zhuojian Marine Engineering Survey Technology Co., Ltd.

No further news in 2022. It appears that Rizhao LNG Terminal project hasn't secure a sponsor company by January 2023. Jingneng Rizhao LNG terminal is considered cancelled as of February 2024.
