Background
Rostock power station is a one-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 553 MW. The plant was completed in 1994, and is owned by E.On, RWE, and Rhein Energie.[1]
In March 2022, a project to retrofit the aging plant commenced. The generator and high-pressure parts of the turbines were slated to be replaced. The plant was to be back online by June 2022.[2]
