Background

Environment and social impacts

An accident in 2012 was estimated at 7.9 million RUB damages by the environmental prosecutor's office.[4] The evaluation exposed that the gas pipeline section had not been repaired for 38 years, Gazprom transgaz Yugorsk did not comply with the safety requirements.[4]
