Background

The new unit CC1 (also referred to as "11, 12 CC-115"; Russian: "11, 12 ПГУ-115") was mentioned in the company plan,[13] news in May 2021[14] and listed in the Ministry of Energy 2022-2028 energy program, released in February 2022,[15] and the Ministry of Energy 2023-2028 energy program, released in February 2023.[16] A few news sources caused a confusion mistaking Saratov CHP-2 with Saratov CHP-1.[17][18][19] Once the new unit becomes operational, the old equipment will be retired.[20] As of December 2023, there have not been any updates about the project. The turbine for the project (GTE-65) was to by supplied by Russia's Power Machines. However, in January 2024 it was reported that T Plus was considering to give up the project, partly because it could not obtain the final price of the turbine.[21]
