Background
The Seal Sands power station was initially built as a captive plant to BASF's chemical production facility.[5] However, the although the facility has been idle since 2019 and was officially closed in 2021, the power plant continues to operate.[6]
It provides 55 MW of power through a gas fired combined cycle unit.[7]
