Background
The power station is part of the Shaanxi Coal Industry Chemical Group Company.[1] The first two 125 MW units of the Shaanxi Beiyuan power station were commissioned in 2010, with another two 125 MW units added in 2011 and 2012, respectively. The power station has an annual power generation capacity of approximately 3.6 billion kWh, which is mainly used to support the company’s calcium carbide production, chlor-alkali production and other daily operations.[2][3] It is responsible for the supply of electricity, gas and water to Beiyuan Group. The plant contains desulfurization equipment and sewage treatment facilities onsite. It is operated by the Thermal Power Branch of Shaanxi Beiyuan Chemical Group Co., Ltd., which was established on September 12, 2009.
As of 2021, it was still operating.
