Shaanxi Caojiatan coal mine (陕西陕煤曹家滩矿业有限公司曹家滩煤矿) is located in the Yushen Mining Area, one of the major coal bases in Northern Shaanxi,China. The production capacity of the first phase of Caojiatan mine is 8 million tonnes(Mt) per year, while the total capacity is designed to be 15 Mt/year.[1]

Coal Mine Background

On March 16th 2017, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) has ratified the construction of Caojiatan coal mine located in Yushen Mining Area of Shaanxi, with approved total production capacity of 15Mt/year. During the first phase of the project, the capacity will be 8 Mt/year.[2] Currently, the first phase of Caojiatan Mine is under construction.

In December 2018, the first phase of Caojiatan mine has received approval from the Shaanxi Coal Production Safety Supervision Administration to begin the experimental operation. [3]
