Background on Project
Shanxi International Electricity Group and ChinaCoal are currently planning to build a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total planned capacity of 1,300 MW in Shanxi Province. The first two units began operating in 2012.[1][2][3]
Expansion
Two more units of 350 MW each have been permitted.[4][5][6]
They were reported as under construction in November 2015, and planned for operation in 2017.[7]
Unit 4 was commissioned on June 6, 2019.[8] Unit 3 was commissioned on June 17, 2019.[9]
