Background
In 2010, the first 105 MW unit came online.[7]
In February 2010, Asian Development Bank announced the commissioning of the first power plant as an important milestone, which hopefully would be the beginning of the end of the power shortages in Bangladesh. Bangladesh faced a 1500 MW daily average power shortage during peak hours.[8]
In 2011, the second 105 MW unit came online.[7]
