Background

Uzbekistan used to transport gas through Kelif-Dushanbe and Kelif-Mubarek gas pipelines, significant sections of which run through Turkmenistan. Shurtan-Sherabad gas pipeline allows transportation of Uzbek gas to the south directly.[2]
