Background

Shymkent-Jizzakh Oil Pipeline was proposed to transport oil mainly from Russia and Kazakhstan through Omsk-Pavlodar Oil Pipeline and Pavlodar-Shymkent Oil Pipeline to the Jizzakh oil refinery.[1] The construction of the refinery started in 2017. Construction was halted and shelved in 2019.[2] Given no published updates for four years, the pipeline is presumed to be cancelled.
