Simon Marsters is a director of Solid Energy, a New Zealand government-owned coal company.

A biographical note on Solid Energy's website states that "is a chemical engineer and former General Manager of Imerys Tableware Division Asia. He held senior roles in Ceramco Corporation and New Zealand China Clays, being appointed General Manager of New Zealand China Clays in 1987 and becoming an executive director of Ceramco in 1992. He is currently working as a business broker in Albany."
