Background
The Fukushima Natural Gas power plant is the base of the Japan Petroleum Exploration (JAPEX) company's Natural Gas-fired Power Generation Project at Soma Port in Shinchi Town, Fukushima. The overall project was approved for commercialization in October 2016.[4] Construction of the power plant began in October 2017.[5] Fukushima Natural Gas Power Plant is scheduled to commence commercial operation in spring 2020.[6]
