The pipeline starts at the Songo Songo Gas Field and Island off the Tanzania coast and runs north to Dar es Salaam to the Ubungo power plan and TANESCO's generation plants.

Background

The Songas Pipeline connects the Songo Songo Gas Field to Dar es Salaam. Construction of the entire gas project was completed in May 2004, and it began commercial operation in July 2004.[2]
