Background
The first two units of the power station were commissioned in 2003 with a total capacity of 250 MW.[1] The plant was originally owned by CPI.[2]
Expansion
Phase II consists of one additional unit. Unit 3, totaling 350 MW, was completed in 2012. There is also a third phase planned for construction of 2 × 40MW and 1 × 50MW back-pressure heating units,[3] which went into operation in 2014.[4][5]
2021: Capacity replacement
In Jilin Province's 14th Five-Year Plan, a 350 MW "capacity replacement" project was proposed.[6]
Units 1 and 2 appeared slated for retirement during the province's 14th Five-Year-Plan (2021-2025),[7] presumably around 2023.
Ownership
In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[8]
