Southern Trails Hydrogen Pipeline is a proposed hydrogen transmission pipeline in the United States.

Location

The pipeline is proposed to run from Shiprock, New Mexico to a location north of Flagstaff, Arizona.

Background

Tallgrass Energy representatives evidently began courting officials at Navajo Nation government meetings in early 2023, hoping to build a hydrogen pipeline that would run parallel to the Southern Trails Gas Pipeline. Discussions began two years earlier.

Little is known about the potential pipeline, including what type of hydrogen (blue, gray, green) would be transported in it.
