Background
In October 2019, during a visit of the Sudanese Prime Minister to Addis Ababa, Sudan's Minister of Energy and Mining and Ethiopia's Minister of Water, Irrigation and Energy agreed in principle to build an oil pipeline from Sudan to Ethiopia. The route and further details were not announced. The two ministers also invited South Sudan to participate, with a branch of the pipeline potentially running to South Sudan.[1][2]
As of May 2022, it had been nearly three years without any evidence for further development of the pipeline, and it is presumed to be shelved as of 2021.
