Background

In January 2018 Baichuan Energy announced a plan to build the terminal in three phases, with construction of the first phase taking an estimated 2.5 years.[1] [2]As of 2022, there has been no further news on the project's development, and it is considered cancelled.

In July 2023, National Energy Administration responded to the provincial congress delegate regarding the Suizhong LNG terminal development that Liaoning Province would have sufficient natural gas supply during the 14th Five year plan period. There is no need for more LNG terminal development. This is an explicit cancellation of the project. [3]
