Background

Synthos contracted an Ansaldo Energia gas turbine and an EKOL steam turbine for a combined-cycle gas unit at its Oswiecim chemical plant. The new gas unit will replace one of the existing coal boilers. Heat from the unit will be used in the industrial facilities and power will be sold back to the grid.[6][7] Mostotal Warszawa won the contract for the construction of the plant, which began in 2021.[8][9]
