Background

The power station is owned by PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A. and is coal- and biomass-fired.[3] The 72 MW coal-burning Unit 4 at Szczecin power station was retired in 2008 and replaced three years later by a new biomass-fueled 68 MW unit.[4]
